Level 1 Food Safety and Hygiene

This course is aimed at domestic audience and candidates who are generally interested in the subject area. By the end of this course the learner will be able to:

            Keep  the domestic work area clean, self-clean and hygienic

 

            Analyse the reason behind how food gets contaminated

 

Note: This course is not suitable for food handlers in the catering , manufacturing or retail environment.

According to EU Regulation 852/2004 Hygiene for Foodstuffs requires Food Businesses to make sure that any staff who handles food are supervised, instructed and trained in Food Hygiene in a way that is appropriate to the work they do.. This course covers the following subject area:

 

         

             Learning Objectives and an introduction to Food Safety

             and Hygienes.

 

           Impact of Food-Borne Illness

 

           Understanding Food Law.

 

           Food Safety Hazards and Contamination.

 

           Food Preservation, Storage and Temperature Control.

 

           Personal Hygiene, Hygienic Premises and Equipment

 

          Hazards Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
